具体用途：

形态特征：该藻细胞微小, 具有特征性的一根侧生的鞭毛, 鞭毛上具一根细长的顶毛。该藻细胞膜外无细胞壁和鳞片。细胞内部结构相当简单, 仅具一个中央包含着蛋白核的叶绿体, 一个细胞核, 一个线粒体及一组高尔基复合体。

区域分布：从极地到热带均有分布。
